Class of 1967 members celebrate their 40th anniversary reunion

with help from the Class of 1968!

 

2007 REUNION CELEBRATES 40 YEARS!

The McClain Classes of 1967 and 1968 enjoyed a great celebration in 2007 – a joint 40th anniversary reunion. In addition to the main reunion at the Greenfield Eagles Lodge on Saturday, August 11, there was also a reception at the old Elementary Gym on Friday, August 10 featuring a tour of the high school by Supt. Terry Fouch, a member of the Class of 1968! The weekend festivities also included a Saturday golf outing at Buckeye Hills and a class picnic Sunday afternoon at the home of Rick and Vicki Unger. 

Thanks to the planning committee members for organizing this wonderful weekend, and to everyone who attended.

UPDATE ON CLASS REUNION PHOTO BOOKS:

It took awhile, but Brand Parrish of Parrish Photography came through with the reunion books and photo discs commemorating our 40th reunion in August 2007.

Since his photos were better than mine, I have replaced the group photos of the Class of 1967 and the Class of 1968 thumbnailed below.

Brant is the daughter of Linda Beatty Parrish (Class of 1967), and has a website at http://parrishphotos.com/ where some of his other work can be seen.

 

Also, thanks to Beth Ann Stewart, daughter of our late classmate Dennis Stewart, who recently provided a more complete obituary for her father's listing on the OBITUARIES page. Remember The Ravins?

The Ravins were an early-to-mid-1960s band in the Greenfield area. Members pictured above included (L-R): Ken Welch rhythm guitar, Jim Wise drums, Mike Yankie, lead guitar, Marty Beatty, lead vocalist, Jeff Mossbarger, rhythm guitar, and Bob Riley, bass guitar. Thanks to Jim Wise, now of Hyco Lake, NC, for the photo and the information.

Jim went on to provided the following information: "Later the group re-organized with Mike and Bob leaving the group, being replaced by Colin Kelley on bass guitar/vocals and Kellis Smith on guitar. I think Kellis and Ken took turns playing lead guitar.  The name also changed to The Distinguished Order of Sound.  I have a Greenfield Times newspaper clipping with the groups picture on the front page after playing at 'The Place'.  If you don't remember, that place was supposed to take Penny's place but it didn't stay open too long."
