The Strolling Tones continue serving as purveyors of the barbershop arts, turning up at variety shows, telethons, festivals and annual banquets. Not long ago, a student at Wilmington College interviewed the group to learn more about what it's like to be a barbershop group member. Can a reality show be far behind? Imagine Jed Clampett, Ozzy Osbourne, Bill Parcells and Donald Trump moving in together and sharing their daily lives with the masses. On second thought, the members of the Strolling Tones are not that different from one another. In fact, they have a very harmonious relationship! So scratch the reality show, but keep your ears open for that good old barbershop sound...

Barbershop music is joyous, happy music,

full of harmony and clever lyrics.

The Strolling Tones, from Greenfield, Ohio,

are practitioners of this time-honored style of

music and are available to perform at

The members of The Strolling Tones are:

The Strolling Tones were back in action October 19, 2006 at the Greenfield Rotary Club's annual appreciation dinner at Buckeye Hills Country Club. Setting up near the doorway for a quick exit -- just in case -- the guys tried some new arrangements and dared to alternate their reversible vests! BELOW: In a stunning move during the Tones' precision choreography number, "Hats Off to Barbershop," baritone Paul Orr pulled a disappearing act for the camera!

Long Live Barbershop!

The Strolling Tones -- no relation to Mick Jagger and friends -- have been making music together since the late 1990s, spurred on by a mutual interest in the timeless stylings of barbershop music.

Baritone Paul "Slim" Orr sang with the Accidentals for years, but was lured to the Strolling Tones by the promise of big bucks. Lead singer "L.L. Cool Jay Hip-Hop" Harmount raps and croons as the occasion demands and is the only one in the quartet who knows all the words. Mike "Boom-Boom" Anderson sings those low notes from the bottom of his heart, and Ron "Good to the Last Drop" Coffey is the only one secure enough in his masculinity to sing those high "foo-foo" notes.

Barbershop music appeals to all ages and evokes images of a happy time in a more innocent age. The harmonies are interesting, the lyrics are often quite clever, and since no backup band or sound system are necessary, the operating costs are low. The Strolling Tones would like to share some of this unique music with you.

Where else but barbershop could you hear songs like "How Can I Miss You if You Won't Go Away," or "Ever Since We Got that Waterbed, We've Just Been Drifting Apart"?

The Strolling Tones have performed in parts of two different centuries and plan to continue "until we get it right." A partial list of places where the Strolling Tones have gathered choruses of "No Mas!" includes:
